Can I Use My Wireless Keyboard and Mouse With WBT2-V4?

Possibly—but “wireless” alone does not establish compatibility. For WBT2-V4, first identify how each keyboard and mouse can provide input to its USB ports. A device with a USB receiver, a device with a genuine wired USB mode, and a Bluetooth-only device need different checks. Then plan the separate connection from WBT2-V4 to each computer.

WBT2-V4’s Bluetooth connection to a computer is not a promise that any Bluetooth keyboard or mouse can pair directly to the switch. If you want to keep your current wireless peripherals, confirm the exact models and intended input connection before ordering.

Identify what connects to what

There are two sides to the setup:

  • Keyboard and mouse → WBT2-V4: the input side. WBT2-V4 has two USB inputs for a supported keyboard and mouse. Any proposed wireless-receiver arrangement needs compatibility confirmation for those peripherals.
  • WBT2-V4 → selected computer: the computer side. Each target uses a matching WSCOME receiver or supported Bluetooth pairing.

A receiver supplied with your keyboard belongs to the first side of this plan. A matching WSCOME receiver plugged into a target computer belongs to the second. They have different jobs; do not count a keyboard-brand receiver as a spare WSCOME receiver.

The WBT2-V4 product description explains its USB inputs and supported computer connections. It does not guarantee every wireless accessory or receiver arrangement.

Start with the connection your peripherals actually offer

Check the keyboard and mouse separately. They may not use the same connection method.

What you already haveWhat to establish before buying
A wireless keyboard or mouse with its own USB receiverIdentify the exact peripheral and receiver. Ask whether that receiver can provide supported input through WBT2-V4; a USB plug by itself is not confirmation.
One USB receiver shared by a keyboard-and-mouse comboDescribe it as a shared-receiver combo. Ask whether both devices work together through that single receiver in the proposed WBT2-V4 setup. Do not assume two USB inputs establish support for every combined receiver.
A wireless device that also offers wired USB operationCheck the manufacturer’s instructions for an actual wired input mode. Confirm that input travels over the cable, rather than assuming a charging connection carries keystrokes or mouse movement. Then verify WBT2-V4 compatibility in that mode.
A Bluetooth-only device with no USB receiver or wired input modeDo not plan direct pairing to WBT2-V4 on the strength of its Bluetooth label. Confirm a supported input path before buying; otherwise, keep the device’s direct-to-computer workflow or consider different peripherals.

For a dual-mode device, name the mode you want to use. “It works over Bluetooth with my laptop” answers a different question from “its USB receiver works through WBT2-V4.”

Keep receiver identity separate from receiver quantity

Suppose your keyboard and mouse share their original USB receiver, and you want to switch between two computers. There are two decisions:

  1. Can the original combo receiver work on the input side? Confirm support for that exact keyboard, mouse and receiver arrangement.
  2. How will WBT2-V4 connect to the two computers? If both use WSCOME receiver mode, plan one matching WSCOME receiver for each computer. If a computer uses supported Bluetooth pairing, it does not need that WSCOME receiver for the Bluetooth connection.

This is a planning example, not a tested combo. Even if the input-side receiver is supported, it does not replace either computer-side WSCOME receiver. Use the receiver quantity guide for the purchasing calculation after deciding the connection for each computer.

If your original keyboard receiver is missing, buying a WSCOME receiver does not recreate that keyboard’s original wireless connection. See the lost keyboard receiver guide for that separate problem.

Check the functions you need to keep

Basic typing and pointer movement are only part of a buying decision. List any essential mouse side buttons, scrolling functions, media controls, macros or manufacturer-software features. Ask about those functions with your intended connection mode and operating systems.

A report that ordinary typing works is not evidence that every special feature works. This guide does not certify particular brands, promise gaming performance, or establish login-screen and wake behavior.

You can send a focused inquiry through WSCOME support:

I want to keep my existing wireless keyboard and mouse with WBT2-V4. My keyboard is [exact model], my mouse is [exact model], and the receiver is [model or label]. They use [one shared receiver / separate receivers / wired USB mode / Bluetooth only]. My target computers and operating systems are [details]. I need [specific functions]. Is this input arrangement supported, and which functions have been confirmed?

Include a product link or receiver-label photo if available. There is no need to open the peripherals to describe this setup.

Decide whether WBT2-V4 fits the whole desk

Consider WBT2-V4 when your supported keyboard-and-mouse input arrangement is confirmed and you want to switch it between up to 8 target computers. Normal switching does not require keyboard-sharing software or a shared local network. Displays, files and clipboard contents remain separate: WBT2-V4 does not switch video or share those contents.

If your peripherals already provide a multi-computer workflow that meets your needs, compare that workflow before adding a switch. If keeping a particular wireless combo is essential and its input arrangement remains unconfirmed, resolve that point before ordering.

For operating steps, use the WBT-V3 and WBT2-V4 user guide. Once the input arrangement is confirmed, review the WBT2-V4 keyboard and mouse switch and choose the computer connections that fit your desk.
